Late night shopping, street entertainment, music, activities, food and stalls will be available in the main street of Dungog when the Starry Starry Night Street Party is held in November.
"[It's about] celebration. We're definitely hitting the celebration period of time," event organiser Therese McIntyre said.
"And business awareness. You often get people come in and say they feel left out, we're ensuring we're talking to every business."
"It's inclusiveness and when you have inclusiveness you get buying and everyone contributes."
The Starry Night festival is loosely inspired by the Vincent Van Gogh painting of the same name, with Dowling Street set to become a canvas of stars and lights.
Schools have been invited to create stars to hang up on trees along Dowling Street, according to the president of the Dungog District Chamber of Commerce and assistant organiser of the night festival, Marion Stuart
"We've invited the schools to do entertainment as well as make stars," she said.
"From preschool through to high schools to either make stars, entertain and bring their families. I'd like to designate each tree to a class."
Festival organisers hope that the event will provide a tourism boost to Dungog in the lead up to Christmas.
President of the Visitor Information Centre, Belinda Blanch, who is also involved with organising the event, is excited for everything to come together, however is concerned about keeping things in a manageable scale.
"I think that the biggest part is looking at it and making sure everything that we do is achievable," Ms Blanch said.
The night party is set to have entertainment for all featuring live music and food, a reptile show, whip crackers and more.
Shopfronts in Dowling Street have also been invited to open longer for the festival and night market.
"Every business is invited," Ms McIntyre said. "We're not just inviting them, we're supporting them."
Pubs and bars have also been invited to participate by hosting live music, according to Ms Stuart.
Starry Starry Night Street Party by the Dungog District Chamber of Commerce and Dungog Shire Council is set to kick off on Friday, November 25, from 4pm.
The party doesn't stop after Friday night. Clarence Town's Williams River Festival will be held on Saturday, November 26.
