Tocal's team made 40 blood and plasma donations, with more than 25 people donating for the first time and many donating plasma, which is the main donation needed by Hunter hospitals.

Hosted by Hunter LEGO group Rainbow Bricks, brickfest will have 35 exhibitors with about 90 tables of displays, including LEGO sets and unique creations built from scratch.

Recent warm weather and sunshine has drawn snakes out of their winter low-energy brumation phase, and residents are encouraged to be on the look out to keep themselves, children and pets safe.

There were about 150 entries into the tea cosy and trivet competitions, with Sandra Stanley taking out Cosy of the Year with her circus-themed creation, and Catherine Campbell winning Trivet of the Year with her beautiful mosaic design.
