The Friday evening shows feature predominantly local performers performing in a wide range of genres, from jazz to pop.
Sunset Sessions focuses on a more relaxed approach to live music rather than shows that Performing Arts Dungog have hosted in the past.
Sally Corbett, secretary of Performing Arts Dungog, said she is very excited about this more relaxed approach to live music.
"This is less of a concert, more of a gig," Mrs Corbett said.
The next edition of Sunset Sessions is geared to take place on Friday, April 22, with a combined performance from Phyl Danvers and Brian Saxby.
Mrs Danvers and Mr Saxby plan on performing across a different genres, including jazz, blues and pop.
Mrs Danvers has a long history with music, studying at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music.
Mrs Danvers learnt to play violin, flute, trumpet, French horn, double bass, piano and sing.
On top of her experience at the conservatorium, Mrs Danvers has also taught at Dungog High School for about 30 years.
"All the local things, the school kids always sang at those. Every year we had three or four big events, we would go to all of them. So that always kept us out of trouble," Mrs Danvers said.
Sunset Sessions are held at the Royal Hotel in Dungog, starting at 5.30pm and continuing until 6.30-ish.
