Following the success of the past two years, the Dungog District Chamber of Commerce volunteers are rolling up their sleeves to again present the street party.
Chamber president Jenny Lewis said the event brought businesses, community associations, schools, churches, volunteers and individuals together to offer a positive shared family experience.
As in previous years, the IGA Food and Wine Fair will also take place on the night and this year carols will also take place in the vicinity of the Uniting Church during the evening.
Ms Lewis said the chamber's plans include festivities around the area of the Visitors Information Centre, on the corner of Dowling and Brown Street.
"There's entertainment, a visit from Santa Clause, local market stalls, children's activities including face painting and a jumping castle and of course the fabulous Christmas Street Parade," she said.
"Besides offering extended trading hours, there might be other ways for businesses to be involved and we welcome any suggestions you might have.
"We'd also like to involve as many community groups as possible, so we are open to ideas of how to work with you to be involved."
