The 2018 Australian Gardener of the Year, John Le Messurier caught up with Riverglen owners Maree Monk and Graeme Walmsley at their picturesque Allynbrook property.
Mr Le Messurier, from Redhead, even brought along his golden shovel marking his ABC television Gardening Australia win.
A beautiful warm autumn day provided the perfect weather to showcase five country gardens for the Paterson Allyn Garden Group event.
Organisers said the event exceeded their expectations.
Large crowds flocked to all five open gardens from Paterson to Allynbrook with guests chatting to the owners as they wandered around the properties.
Proceeds from the day went towards the maintenance of the Gresford Arboretum.
