Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie said the funding under the Building Better Regions Fund will help the council implement a new Dungog Events Ready Program.
"This project will allow council to really ramp up its agenda to assist organisations, community, business and sporting groups hold various events in the local area," Dr Gillespie said.
The Council's Events Ready program will consist of eight low-cost educational workshops for new and existing community event organisers.
"Experienced speakers will cover all aspects of planning and managing events and a community events kit will be collated from the workshop materials," said Dr Gillespie.
"More local events will be great for locals and help attract more visitors to the region too.
"That's good for the economy and it's great for social activities in the local area."
Dr Gillespie said the Building Better Regions Fund had been developed by The Nationals to support regional communities by investing in local infrastructure as well as community-building and planning initiatives.
