Constable Tim Houtsma who transferred from Raymond Terrace has been slowly getting to know the local community.
It wasn’t a big move for Constable Houtsma, who with his wife Cathryn and two young daughters aged 5 and 8, relocated from their Clarence Town home into the police residence in Dungog.
Now in his fourth year in the police force, Constable Houtsma was previously an aircraft technician in the RAAF for 16 years before deciding on a career change.
He said growing up on a farm in rural Victoria he relished the idea of a country life for his family and they look forward to getting involved in the local community.
The Dungog position made available with Constable Dave Hanna being transferred to Raymond Terrace was highly sought after.
“When I found out my application was successful I thought all my Christmases had come at once,” he said.
