Each year the Agency visits nursing homes unannounced to review one or more of the standards.
Whilst at the home the Agency interviewed both staff, residents and relatives who were visiting on the day.
On completion of the visit the standard accessed was deemed to be met without exception and the team celebrated with pizzas from Dungog Pizza.
The residents also recently enjoyed the Henny Penny hatchling program with chicken eggs brought in and observed to hatch under heat lamps.
Many of the residents who were former farmers watched on in interest – with some keen debate on which ones seemed to be roosters.
Staff were able to find homes for the new chicks.
