The Stallions home ground has been an unhappy hunting ground in recent seasons including a loss after a disappointing batting collapse by Paterson in round nine.
Saturday’s win sets up an exciting final round with Paterson, Windsor Castle and Kurri Kurri all scrambling to finish as high as they can on the ladder to avoid a semi-final against minor premiers Port Stephens.
The Pythons host Paterson on Saturday, but the venue should hold no fears as Paterson upset the Pythons there in round 10.
In the other games Kurri Kurri hosts the Stallions and Dungog will be looking for a win to finish a disappointing season when they travel to Raworth’s Schanck Drive.
Dungog will collect the wooden spoon from a tough season in which they have struggled to field teams.
