When Jyden Neilson and Kelly Simmonds last graced the pages of the Dungog Chronicle together they were fresh-faced five-year-olds about to start kindergarten.

Now the pair, both 12, have graduated from Dungog Public School and are still firm friends.
Jyden and Kelly attended the Year 6 formal together, have both been house captains and received their end of year certificates straight after one another.
Dungog Public School has a wonderful tradition of farewelling Year 6 students by clapping them out with a guard of honour made by the other students as they each ring the school bell, which both mums admitted was an emotional moment for them too.
Both Jyden and Kelly said they were looking forward to attending Dungog High School next year.
