Set to be held on Saturday, June 22, the volunteer expo will be the first that the Dungog and Clarence Town CWA has held.
The idea behind the expo comes from the need to create a network between the shire's numerous volunteering organisations.
"It's about how much they all do for the shire, getting all the groups together in one room connecting them all together," president of Dungog and Clarence Town's CWA Helene Leane said.
Ms Leane hopes to have as many volunteer organisations as possible at the event.
"There must be 20 or 30 organisations in the Shire, we want to get as many as possible," she said.
"There's six different categories of organisations: sports, cultural, environmental, educational, physical safety and entertainment. Those categories span the whole life of people in town and people choose what their passion is.
"It's a matter of people being at the expo and saying they do this and that and making those connections because otherwise we're in our own little bubbles, we're not aware of what everyone's doing."
On the day, each organisation and group will be given a table at the CWA Hall and they can advertise what services they offer.
The expo will be open to the general public as well as other organisations.
Ms Leane hopes the expo will spread awareness about the different organisations in Dungog as well as how much the town is driven by volunteers.
"I think it's really important that the average person is made aware of things like the fact that the James Theatre is run by volunteers basically. No one's getting paid for these jobs that we do," she said.
"We want the general public to come in to meet the volunteers and say thanks.
"We want to bring as much goodwill to the town as possible by providing the space for people to meet and learn."
