Dungog's SES unit said in a Facebook post that people living in Dungog, Paterson, Clarence Town and Seaham should stay informed regarding the risk of flooding as heavy rain is forecast for the area.
"You should stay informed by monitoring warnings issued by NSW SES on their website and Facebook page, listening to your local ABC radio station, and checking the latest weather information from the Bureau of Meteorology online," the post said.
"This rainfall has the potential to cause minor to moderate flooding along parts of the New South Wales coast and ranges from late Thursday."
According to the Facebook post, the SES is expecting heavy rainfall on Friday, April 5 however there is still 'uncertainty associated with the location and intensity of the heaviest falls".
The SES is advising anyone in these areas to review their home/business emergency plans or to otherwise have a conversation and make plans in case of an emergency.
They are also advising planning alternate routes in case of bridge or road closures, obey road safety signs, avoid storm drains and creeks and to never swim in or walk or drive through flood water.
People in areas that are likely to be impacted are advised to raise their assets including waste and chemical containers.
