The Dungog Archies is an annual art show where entrants paint portraits.
The subject for the Dungog Archies should be a resident of the Dungog Shire or a person with an association with the shire.
The main prize for the adult section, sponsored by The Medical Practice Dungog, is $750 with $250 up for grabs for second place.
The Youth Section is sponsored by Mr Douglas Spedding with $150 up for grabs for under 18-year-olds and $100 up for grabs for under 13-year-olds.
The 2023 Dungog Archies saw a drop in entrants with 35 paintings hung on the art society's walls. The previous year saw 42 entrants.
Kim Blunt from Maitland Regional Art Gallery volunteered to judge the 2023 Archies.
As a result, Sandra Lalopoulos won the adult section of the 2023 competition with her portrait of Suzannah Jones.
The winner of the 2023 youth 13 - 18 year old section was Teigha Bevan with a portrait titled Sebastian. First prize in the under 13-year-old section was Archie Slack with his portrait titled "Down on the Farm with Richie".
