The Suns are expecting Lukosius to be sidelined until round 13's bye after he re-aggravated a PCL injury sustained earlier in the season during last weekend's win over Sydney at the SCG.

Dew said it wasn't just on the footy field where Lukosius suffered a setback, also falling on the injured knee at home.

"Unfortunately, he fell on it in a similar manner two or three times on the weekend and aggravated that and then subsequently he's had a bit of a fall at home as well with that," Dew said.

"He'll brace that for a number of weeks, three or four, and just assess at the mid-season break."

The setback continues a stop-start period for the 21-year-old, who had an ankle injury over Christmas and the New Year in addition to his recent knee complaint.

"He's frustrated. Jack has never really been injured throughout his whole football career," Dew said.

"What he has done is a really good job because he had that interruption just before the season and dealt with that really well.

"Every time he's played he's had an impact even on the weekend before he went down, he was involved in scoring chains and then got a goal himself.

"We'll definitely miss him but he's just frustrated ... he loves to train, he loves to try and get better and really wants to influence the club.

"He's still digesting the fact that he's going to miss a little chunk of the season but I'm sure he'll be ready to go. He'll come back in a hurry and finish the year off strong."

The Suns face in-form Fremantle at Metricon Stadium on Sunday with Noah Anderson set to return from the illness that ruled him out of the win over the Swans.

Dew also said defender Jack Bowes was "close" to an AFL return after making a successful comeback from a shoulder issue in the VFL last weekend.
