Yesterday, the state reported 20,396 new infections and eight lives lost.
There are 1437 COVID-19 patients in hospital, with 47 in ICU.
Hospitalisation numbers are up on yesterday, when 1435 patients were being cared for with 44 in ICU.
Of the new cases, 10,090 came from positive rapid antigen tests while 7507 came from PCR testing.
The state's population aged 16 years and over is 94.6 per cent double vaccinated, while 96.1 per cent have had their first COVID-19 vaccine shot.
61 per cent have had their third dose of vaccine.
Those aged between 12 and 15 years are 79.5 per cent double vaccinated, while 83.3 per cent have had their first dose.
Of those aged 5 to 11 years old, 49.7 per cent have had their first vaccine dose.
COVID-19 boosters are a step closer for 12 to 15-year-olds.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration has granted provisional go-ahead for a Pfizer booster for the age group although final approval by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation is still pending.
NSW Health will release further details of today's cases at 11am.
