Four-metre tiger shark feeds on a whale carcass
Incredible drone footage showed a tiger shark circling around a whale carcass on Fishermans Beach in Port Kembla on Tuesday.
The humpback whale carcass, which measured 8-10 long, washed up on a rock platform at the southern end of the beach earlier in the day.
A number of sharks were then spotted in the area, according to Surf Life Saving Illawarra.
SharkSmart reported a 3.5-metre tiger shark had been sighted by surf life savers, which was the one seen in the drone video.
Port Kembla beach was immediately closed and council installed warning signs at Port Kembla, Fishermans and MM beaches. advising surfers, swimmers and divers to stay out of the water.

Final voyage
The iconic MV Queenscliff took her final journey from Manly to Circular Quay this week.
On Wednesday, the ferry was retired after its 40 years of service to Sydney.
In that time it's estimated the vessel has travelled more than three million kilometres across Sydney's waterways.
For its final journey on Wednesday it was mastered by Austin Hart. Mr Hart is the son of the vessel's first ferry master who led the first trip in July 1983.
The Queenscliff is one of four ferries that will be retired to make way for newer, faster vessels.

South Korean Netflix series Squid Game follows hundreds of desperate contestants playing a series of deadly children's games, risking their lives for a AU$52 million prize.
Sydney TikToker Alistair Fawcus, 24, has made a viral video series by adding an Australian twist to Squid Game - which is now the biggest series on Netflix.
In the "What if Squid Game was set in Australia?' series, Mr Fawcus adapted games on the show to Australian versions.
For example, in Squid Game one of the challenges required contestants to cut out a shape out of a piece of honeycomb or be shot in the head.
In his Australian version, Mr Fawcus changed the task to cutting a shape out of a piece of Fairy Bread.
