The event will be held at the Vacy School of Arts hall on Thursday, January 30.
Presenters will include Todd Andrews DPI Beef Development Officer, District Vet Jim Kerr, Hunter LLS Livestock officer Teresa Hogan, the DPI Rural Resilience team, and local producers.
Session one from 3.30pm-5.30pm will feature production feeding and managing autumn calves; market selection and targeting production; early weaning; drought rebates and subsidies for primary producers; Q&A on livestock health and nutrition.
Session One is suited to people with a commercial focus and an interest in marketing to the grid
Afternoon tea and light snacks will be available following the session at 5:30.
Session two from 6pm-7.30pm will cover fundamentals of feeds and feeding; animal health risk; water management; making decisions and drought planning; local experiences with drought decisions.
Afternoon tea and light snacks will be available prior to the session from 5:30 to 5:50.
