The Kurri Kurri Speedway Club will host three speedway solo championships on Saturday, November 9, and the Cessnock Motorcycle Club hosts one of the Hunter's favourite events the annual Australian Postie Bike Grand Prix on Sunday, November 10.
History will be made when three speedway solo championships will be decided on the one program on the Saturday at Kurri Kurri Speedway.
The 2019 NSW State Junior 125cc Speedway Solo Championship will get underway at 4pm with the NSW State Junior 250cc Speedway Solo Championship and the NSW State Under 21 500cc Speedway Solo Championship set for a 7pm start.
The Cessnock Motorcycle Club will once again host the Australian Postie Bike Grand Prix on the Sunday through the streets of Cessnock.
The day's program gets underway at 9am with a parade lap followed by practice and qualifying. The main event, the Australian Postie Bike Grand Prix is scheduled to start at 3pm.
The two events are expected to boost the local economy with an influx of competitors, officials and fans to the region.
The Kurri Kurri Speedway Club stepped up to the plate to hose the three championships on the same evening when there were doubts one or more of them may not be held this year.
"When we heard, we offered to conduct the three title events and MNSW has agreed," club president Peter Campton.
"Our club is about providing opportunity at all levels and we did not want to see our young riders missing out on a chance to be a state champion."
"This will be a great way to launch our 2019/2020 summer speedway season."
The NSW junior and under-21 titles kicks off a huge summer of racing at Kurri Kurri including the fourth of the NSW titles with the NSW Open solo championship to be held on Saturday, December 7.
The annual Jason Crump Invitational returns on Boxing Day and as usual will be one of the highlights of the season.
This year the Australian solo title starts in Kurri Kurri and a qualifying night has been set down for Thursday, January 2 and round one will be staged on Friday, January 3. The annual Tex Macdonal Team's Challenge on Saturday, January 25, will be the last meeting for many of Australia's leading riders before they head back to Europe.
