Run Dungog is a non-profit community trail-running event (fun run). Organised by passionate volunteers and hosted by the Dungog Shire Community Centre.
The event has four core aims: Bring people, especially those in the Dungog Shire, together. Provide a platform for well-being, health, fitness and positivity. Showcase the Dungog Common and the Dungog Shire as an adventure tourism destination and attract visitors to the shire. Raise funds to invest back into community initiatives.
The running festival will start on Saturday, August 3 with The Run Dungog Ultra Run - An ultra is a race over 42 km in distance. The 50km trail running event will start and finish in the Dungog Common and is a stunning picturesque and challenging trail run.
During the run we will be hosting a free community outdoor picnic at the Dungog Common, where we will have music, local produce and activities. This will take place from noon to 5pm
On Sunday 4th August the running festival shifts gear and focuses on families and encourages everyone to get amongst the fun and have a go. We will be hosting 5km, 10km and 20km trail events within the boundaries of the Dungog Common. This event will take place between 8:30am and 12:30pm. During the event we will have a local coffee cart and breakfast catering. All kids run free during this event and our focus is on bringing families together.
This year The Dungog District Chamber of Commerce is supporting a perpetual trophy for a local Business and Club Team Challenge for the 5km Trail Run. Every business sponsor gets 3 free entries - So get your team of 3 together and register either as runners for the team Challenge or contact the Community Centre to become a sponsor of the event and enter the Team Challenge - the fastest 3 times across the finish line of the 5km wins the bragging rights.

This event has had at its heart a want to build community in a positive and inclusive process, both through the event itself and through the benefit the profits that the event will bring to the Dungog Shire Community Centre and our local emergency services with funds donated to assist in providing more support and care to our community. So we hope to see you on the trails participating or cheering on the runners and enjoying the festival atmosphere of Run Dungog.
