Families with young children
Through research we know that the first 1000 days of life are the most important in terms of brain, social and emotional development.
Providing support for families with young children is a focus of the Community Centre. Doug the Reading Bug and Books 4 Babies encourages everyone to read to children from birth. The New Parents Group supports families with children under 12 months to build supportive relationships and networks in their community to support their journey of parenting.
Nourish Dungog and Clarence Town are exciting fortnightly gatherings to connect to community through sharing a meal, stories and friendship.
Youth Service
Through our youth service we offer a range of programs and activities to support, engage and empower young people and their families to build healthy relationships, positive self esteem, self reliance and confidence.
We offer a range of programs including Horse Tails, Esteem Design, Rhythm to Recovery, Love Bites and many more.
Lisa and Max are also available to young people and or their families to chat and talk over life's challenges and to provide support and assistance to empower individual and families in their lives and relationships.
Emergency Relief
Drop by on Tuesday morning and meet with our supportive staff to see how we can help take some of the financial pressure off.
Our staff will discuss your situation and see what assistance we can offer - with utility bills, food, chemist and petrol vouchers and food hampers.
Information and Referral
Sometimes things can feel like they are all piling up. With the right support and guidance you can find a path forward. We are here to listen and help link you and your family with the right supports and services to help you build skills, get care and service to support you.
Drop by each morning before 12 for a cuppa and a chat to see what support is out there.
Centrelink
There are many times in our lives when we need to interact with the Centrelink/ medicare/ mygov system, turn 18, have a baby, get married, retire, or have a loss in life.
The system can be confusing and even a little scary. In Dungog we are fortunate to have a Centrelink Agency where our wonderfully supportive and caring staff can help you.
Call into the centre between 9 and 12.30 each morning and say hello to Nina.
