Joining players, coaches and parents to announce the funding at both Dungog and Clarence Town, Federal member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie said the local clubs had done a magnificent job with a small amount of resources.
"I'm delighted to announce Dungog Soccer Club has been able to secure $3,700 under the Federal Coalition Government's Volunteer Grants program to assist our volunteers in their role of running this important local community sporting organisation," Dr Gillespie said.
"For the Dungog Soccer Club this small grant will go some way to helping the club meet the transport costs associated with training, the purchase of a new lawn mower, line marking machine and a new public address system so that everyone can know what's going on across all of the fields on those busy Saturdays during the competition."
Dr Gillespie announced funding of $4,000 to the Clarence Town Football Club which caters to over 120 players from age five to adult.
"At Clarence Town FC's home games there can be as many as 300 players, coaches, and spectators attending our fields," he said.
"In line with the club's efforts to create a safe environment for players and spectators, the club ensures that there are personnel trained in first aid available at all times.
"As the club's teams travel, it is especially important for their volunteer coaches to have this training, so that players can be assured of trained officials at all venues.
"This grant will assist the Clarence Town FC host a first aid training course for all coaches and committee members at a local venue to raise their competency level so that they can carry out their duty of care for the safety of all people involved with the club."
The club will also use the funding towards the purchase of portable first aid kits for each team so that their coaches have appropriate supplies.
