The NSW Government is calling for organisers of all new rural and regional NSW events planned from January to June next year, to apply for grants of up to $20,000 to help attract more visitors and boost local economies.

The 2019 Incubator Event Fund is available to organisers staging an event for the first or second time and offers annual grants to events in rural and regional NSW to assist in areas such as marketing, public relations, venue hire and attendee research. Applications for round one close on Sunday, 4 November 4. Importantly, the fund is open to incorporated associations as well as businesses.

Round two applications for events held between July and December 2019 will open in March next year.
Grants are also currently available under the Dungog Shire’s Community Small Grants Program. These community organisations to develop programs and activities, which will further enhance the lives of the residents of Dungog Shire.

Dungog Regional Tourism AGM
The annual general meeting of Dungog Regional Tourism Inc. (DRT) will be held on Thursday, November 8 at 6pm at Dungog RSL, corner of Brown and Lord Streets, Dungog. This is the end of the second year of the current board, which has a term of three years. The board has recently filled a casual vacancy by appointing Ms Heather Watkins. The vacancy was created by the resignation of David McDonald. The current board members are Cameron Archer (Chair), Janice Bonamy, Sarah Crawford, Westley Neilson, Heather Watkins and myself. Katherine Danvers is currently on leave.
We look forward to seeing you at the AGM. The board will be having dinner at the RSL following the meeting and we hope you can attend and also stay for dinner. If you plan to stay for dinner, please advise the club beforehand.
Christmas decoration competition
Details of the 2018 Dungog District Christmas Decoration Competition will be distributed this week. This is running in conjunction with The Dowling Street Christmas party, which will take place on December 5. It’s full steam ahead for the Dowling Street Christmas Party with a great response from many local businesses who will be extending their trading hours and stall holders.
