Now is the time to start fine-tuning your entry to pit it against the best in the district for the Dungog Agricultural and Horticultural Society’s annual show which will be held on Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10.
The pavilion is run by the A & H Ladies Auxiliary and features various categories for all ages and abilities – flowers, plants, craft, cooking, farm and garden produce, needlework, jams and preserves, photography, porcelain art and computer art.
“Competition in the youth sections is very strong,” said Ladies Auxiliary Secretary Erika Seck.
“Last year in the children’s art section alone we had almost 300 entries.”
The Ladies Auxiliary also runs the Showgirl competition, caters for the President’s Lunch and helps keep the show workers nourished over the two-day event.
During the year they cater for the cattle sales which funds the running of the pavilion competition.
Entries to the pavilion exhibits are encouraged, whether you are a newcomer or have competed for years. The displays are a big attraction for visitors to the show.
To enter, you can pick up a pavilion schedule which has the entry form inside, from various shops in Dungog.
Entries are to be delivered to the pavilion on Wednesday between 3.30pm – 6.30pm and Thursday between 8.00am – 9.30am the week of the show.
The pavilion will be open on show days – Friday between 9am and 4pm and on Saturday from 9am -6pm.
