On the gala awards night on May 12, the Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter, Scot MacDonald, announced the organisation will receive $19,662 from the Premier’s discretionary fund for new entrance signs to Dungog.
Chamber President Jennifer Lewis said the chamber had been liaising with Mr MacDonald and Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen about new entrance signs for some time.
“We have had a lot of discussions with them about new entrance signs since the previous signs were damaged in the April 2015 storms and then deteriorated to such a point the council had to remove them,” she said.
Ms Lewis said the chamber would work with the council and Dungog Regional Tourism on the designs for the signs which were likely to go in Lioness Park.
