A man was thrown from a vehicle after the car he was travelling in rolled down a 20 metre embankment at the Upper Allyn, north of Dungog on Saturday night.
A Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said after the man was ejected the vehicle rolled on top of him, which caused him to be trapped underneath for about two hours.
Another man who was also in the car at the time of the accident managed to extricate himself safely from the vehicle.
The Westpac Helicopter arrived at the scene about 8pm and transported both men, aged 21 and 27, to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said the men both suffered multiple injuries, none of which were life threatening.
