You couldn’t wipe the smile off show president Tim Capp’s face as he and other volunteers spent Sunday cleaning up at the town’s showground.
“We haven’t done the final numbers, but I couldn’t see a blade of grass when I looked around. I’d say they are up a bit on last year.”
In addition to the wood chopping competition, which made a return to the show after 35 years, the Saturday night kid’s disco left plenty smiling.

“It was a fantastic drawcard for the families and everyone stayed on for the fireworks afterwards.” Mr Capp said.
The animal zoo and vintage machinery display also proved popular will all ages.
And a country show wouldn’t be complete without the CWA ladies who kept the volunteers and visitors fed.
Planning has already started for next year’s event.
“We are pretty happy with this year, but there are always things you can do better.”
