A project which helped the Dungog community through the challenges faced after the April superstorm in 2015 will draw to a close at the end of the year.

But while Project Bounce Forward may be officially winding up on December 31, the legacy from the program will live on.
Dungog Shire Community Centre Manager Sarah U’Brien said the strategies the project had put in place will be of great benefit as the community continues to move forward.
“We have learned new ways to look at things and now we are not just focusing on recovery, we are looking at personal preparedness continuing that conversation of where would you go, who can you talk to, no matter what the event is,” she said.
“It’s that resilience in our daily lives that we draw from in a crisis.”
Mrs U’Brien said the community had embraced the Bounce Forward team, allowing them into their lives, homes and hearts and the team considered it a privilege to have walked alongside the community in the last 18 months.
