Dungog opener David Seers almost bludgeoned Dungog’s representative team to victory against the strong Upper Hunter team at Scone on Sunday.

Seers was in scintillating form scoring 82 of an opening stand of 106 with youngster Will Hampton in the John Bull Shield Tier 2 competition.
Hampton made 12 and sensibly rotated the strike to allow Seers to take apart the Upper Hunter attack cracking 14 fours and two huge sixes to set up a total of 221.
But against the powerful Upper Hunter batting order it was not enough with the home side passing the target in the 38th wicket for the loss of six wickets.
Seers was well supported by Damian Keating who made a well compiled 44 before he was bowled.
The middle orderfailed with Sean Hynes making 15 batting at number seven.
Dungog appears to have unearthed another cricketing star with 14-year-old Charlie Hojer making 11 at the end of the innings before running out of partners.
Hojer was a late call up to the team with his older brother Jake pulling out due to a shoulder injury suffered in Saturday’s C grade game.
Hojer looked comfortable at the crease and his innings was only cut short as he ran out of batting partners.
Upper Hunter proved to strong in the batting department.
Daimian Keating was the pick of the Dungog bowlers taking 3 for 53 from 10 overs.
Dungog Skipper Jake Clifton also bowled well taking 2 for 32 off 10 overs.
Blake Fisher bowled with good pace but his six over went for 45 with his rade not working sending down 19 leg side wides.
Young Hojer backed up with the ball and his leg spin caused problems for the Upper Hunter batsman. His four overs against players who were set went for only 29 runs.
Dungog will hopefully have a few more senior players available next round of the series when they host Cessnock at Bennett Park on Sunday, November 27.
In junior representative matches, the Dungog under-16s were making good progress against Maitland West until in-form all-rounder Cal Gabriel came to the crease and proceeded to smash 106 of his team’s total of 6/258.
Shannon Threlfo made 44 and Sam Jordan 40.
Gabriel then backed up with the ball taking 6-12 with Ethan Gladman taking 2-2.
