Cheer on the bull riders as they take on some of meanest Hunter Valley bulls the Fitzsimmons Brothers, from Branxton, can supply.
There will be bare back riding, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, team roping and horse dancing. Gates open at 8am, the rodeo starts at approximately 10am, with a grand entry from 6pm. Barbecue food will be available through the day.
The grand entry will feature members of the Snowy River Riders that were at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Local girl Melanie Rumbel will be sing the national anthem. Band "Four Letter Word" keeps the party rocking from 8.30pm.
Free camping will be available Saturday night, so stay and watch the East Coast Junior Championships on Sunday from 8am-2pm. Barbecue food available once again.
Buck Yeah have donated specially made buckles for the winners of Saturday night’s junior events and Baileys, of Greta, are doing likewise for the novice bronc, bull ride and bare back events, as well as the Tony Hudson Memorial Chute Out.
“We can not make this event happen without our generous sponsors and individuals,” spokesperson Carol-Ann Cummings said. “Our Committee thank them very much.”
