The team travelled to Ashtonfield to play East Maitland on Saturday.
After a quick warm up the boys took to the field and showed a marked improvement in their game. Tyler, Ethan, Riley and Logan were all good in attack, whilst Darcy, Dane, and Jacob got involved in all facets of the game.
The standout player this week was James Ross, who showed that size doesn’t limit determination as he took on the bigger players all day, well done James. See you at training. - Stephen Neilson

The team travelled to McKeachie’s Run on Saturday to take on the Red Dogs.
Playing with only six players the boys once again tried hard and played some great footy.
The team, made up of Jordan Longbottom, Albie Dew, Billy Hinton, Jack Byron, Kobie Jolly and Harkley Hawes, all ran the ball well and tackled well against a much bigger West Maitland team.
Try scorers were Jordan Longbottom and Albie Dew. Well done boys see you at training. - Matt Hinton

The team travelled to Greta on Saturday to play a very mobile Cessnock side.
Cessnock started the game with three quick tries from their very quick and big front rower.
As soon as the boys realised the bigger they are, the harder they fall, the tide quickly turned.
With some great ball movement from Tom Lovegrove, Finley Stevenson, Darcy MacKay and Taylor Hunt, they started to pour on the points.
Cooper Gorton, Isaac Edwards, Charlie Boorer, Connor Beisler and Connor Hannan led the way upfront with excellent straight, hard running and very physical defence.
Mia Finch, Nick Baker, Harry Parish, Jacob Duck and Luke Kemp tackled their hearts out to keep the opposition scoreless in the second half.
We came away with a 34-14 win.
The way these kids defended on their own try line was unbelievable, even the opposition supporters applauded them.
Try scorers were Darcy, Harry, Tom, Cooper, Charlie and Isaac with Tom, Cooper, Charlie, Connor H and Taylor Hunt kicking goals. - Kenneth Gorton

After a few weeks off it was good to finally get some sunshine on a Saturday and return to playing the greatest game of all. These young Warriors were keen to show that their first round victory was not a fluke and travelled down to take on the Wallsend/Maryland Tigers at Maryland.
Before I write about our game I would like to thank Jarrod Hunt and Riley Bashford for venturing down to the game to help our side field a full complement of players, it was nice to have you there sitting on the bench to help with injuries and fatigue thanks guys.
The Warriors received the ball from the kick off and it landed in Broc Hunt’s hands who then showed his skill and pace, which is a pleasure to watch, as he burst through some feeble defence and raced 70 metres to score the opening try of the match.
After the restart both sides had trouble with their ball handling before it was found that the ball we were using had no grip and had to be replaced.
With a new ball all the guys started showing their skill and a great ball from Mitch Andrews and an even better pickup by Gav Taylor, the Warriors were in again.
Dungog were belting their opposition in defence and all of our forwards consisting of Saunders, Morgan-Smith, Laman, Hunt, Blakemore and Piper were outstanding and kept the pressure on the Tigers all game.
Hunta Saunders had a powerful run on the stroke of halftime and placed the ball under the posts for a halftime score of 18-0.
Our boys play 25 minutes a half but with all the stoppages we only got 10 minutes of game time and it was pleasing that we were able to stay composed and make the most of the limited opportunities that came to us.
The second half started like the first with Piper charging onto the ball and burst straight through to score.
At this point of the game our backs started to get more involved creating space in great attacking raids which had the Tigers grasping at thin air on a number of occasions.
The backs, consisting of Bashford, Hunt, Ware, Campbell, Atkins, Osmond, Taylor, Pritchard and Andrews were all working well as a team and are improving every game.
Our next try came from a good inside ball from Pritchard to Andrews who showed just how quick he really is by beating several players to cross the goal line then unselfishly give a try to the ever present Osmond backing up.
Mitchell, your mateship and caring nature is outstanding well done.
The last two tries were both explosive runs by our big units Saunders and Piper who were both unstoppable on many occasions.
This win although very good showed that we have missed a lot of training and need to work on a few areas before our next game. Great work guys.
Thanks to all the parents who travelled down and supported these boys also a big thanks to manager Nicole, assistant Jim and FAO Phil your help is greatly appreciated.
Final score Dungog 38 - Maryland Tigers 0.
Try scorers were Jerry Piper 2, Hunta Saunders 2, Broc Hunt 1, Gav Taylor 1 and Josh Osmond 1 with five goals to Ollie Pritchard.
Ref’s points - three points birthday boy Hunta Saunders, two points Broc Hunt and one point Mitch Andrews. Well done everyone see you all at training.

The team played an exceptional game with only 10 men against a full strength Belmont at Belmont.
The score line of 42-10 speaks volumes for the Warriors crossing for two tries and threatening the Sharks on several more occasions.
Tries to both Bryson Stevenson and Khelan Stevenson were well deserved and executed. Kegs also converted one from two.
A strong sense of teamwork prevailed amongst the Warriors. The lads are to be congratulated for their on-field conduct against a Belmont team showing frustration on a number of occasions in the second half.
Strong performances from Alex Rooke, Josh Haskins and Jack Fisher formed the backbone of the defending effort.
Ryan Wilson and Damon Bolland took the challenge up to the Sharks throughout the game.
Great solo tackles by new recruits Hayden Badior, Josh Hayward and Kurt Wallace show the level to which these fellas are stepping up.
Brandon Brando, as fullback, showed the pace at which he could cover the field.
Throughout the game, the Warriors played with full effort and ran down every break Belmont North made.
Congratulations to Scotty and the lads for conduct on field. I have rarely seen a game played with as much effort, the teamwork outstanding. Hold your heads high. - Sean Wallace
