The 14-year-old Dungog High School student was a member of the NSW athletics team and secured gold in the 200 and 800 metre runs, silver in the 100m event and 4 x 100 relay and bronze in the long jump.
He also managed three personal bests.
Mum Belinda, who took youngest son Jasper down to watch Lleyton compete over two days, said he won the 800m by a clear 200m.
“He had a really successful meet and won the first gold medal for the athletics’ team,” she said.
“In the 200m he won by 5 metres and it was really close from first for fourth in the 100m.
“Lleyton was the anchor for the relay and managed to get them from fourth position when he too9k the baton to second at the finish line.”
After this successful meet Lleyton is being considered as part of Team Australia to go to the Special Olympics World Summer Games to be held in Los Angeles in July next year.
