Police are appealing for information about the incident as they widen their investigation.
A 26-year-old man from Kelso was arrested by police shortly after the incident.
The 26-year-old was last night assisting police with their inquiries, although Acting Superintendent Luke Rankin said he expected charges to be laid against the man.
Late yesterday police were still on the hunt for another two men believed to be involved in the disturbance, one of whom they held concerns for following the incident.
Acting Superintendent Rankin said yesterday police did not have a full picture of what occurred at the house.
“It’s fair to say that not all parties have co-operated with police,” he said.
“We are appealing to anyone with information to contact detectives either through Bathurst Police Station or Crime Stoppers.”
Acting Superintendent Rankin said police were called to the house on Perth Street, Perthville just before 1.30am, where they spoke to a man who indicated that a number of other men who were involved in the disturbance had already left the scene.
A short time later, police arrested one of those men, the 26-year-old Kelso man, at a house in Bonnor Street and also seized his vehicle for examination.
As a result of the disturbance, crime scenes were established at Perth Street, Perthville and Bonnor Street, Kelso.
Police remained on site and could be seen scouring the grounds of two properties throughout the day.
Acting Superintendent Rankin confirmed police had found a loaded rifle at the Perth Street property but were still in the process of trying to determine exactly what had gone on in the minutes before police arrived.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Information can be left anonymously if preferred.
