Stuck in floodwaters
About 7.45am on Monday police received a call for help after a UK tourist had become stuck in floodwaters just south of Clarence Town.
Dungog police traversed the flood waters in their 4WD accessing the driver, before collecting her belongings and removing her from danger.
Whilst waiting for assistance the road was closed by Raymond Terrace police and assisted by Dungog Shire Council.
Offensive language
About 10pm on Saturday, November 9, police from Dungog and Clarence Town spoke to a 21-year-old male from Lake Macquarie who was well affected by alcohol and possibly drugs.
The male was arrested by police and conveyed to a friend's house in Dungog and left in their care.
He was issued with an infringement notice for the offence of offensive language.
Too many passengers
About 12.15am on Sunday, November 10, a 17-year-old male from the Dungog area was stopped by police in Lord Street.
The male is the holder of a provisional licence and had exceeded his passenger limit under the conditions of his driver’s licence. The driver has been issued an infringement notice.
Suspended driver
About 1.50am on Saturday, November 9, an 18-year-old male from Stroud was stopped by Dungog and Clarence Town Police on Clarence Town Road after a decamping from police 30 minutes earlier.
It is alleged the driver had been driving between the Stroud, Dungog and Clarence Town areas all evening before being stopped.
The man’s driver licence had been suspended three months earlier by police for serious traffic offences.
The 16-year-old passenger who was well intoxicated and the owner of the vehicle was issued an infringement notice relating to the offence.
The 18-year-old driver has been issued with a court attendance notice for Maitland Local Court in December.
Dirty mouthful
About 1am on Saturday, November 9 a 17-year-old male from Clarence Town was spoken to by police in Abelard Street, Dungog. The young male was by himself and was well intoxicated.
Upon sighting police he threw a bottle of beer away into grassland.
The young person was spoken to regarding the consumption of alcohol.
The following evening the same 17-year-old was located intoxicated again, with a large group of persons who had previously been at Dungog Show.
The young person was consuming alcohol and was in possession of several bottles of beer.
Police from Dungog and Clarence Town directed the young person to dispose of the beer which he did so.
After disposing of the beer the young person laid down in the gutter and attempted to consume the disposed of beer, instead obtaining a large mouthful of dirt and gravel.
He was issued infringement notices for possessing and consuming alcohol in a public place.
Break-in breakthrough
A 27-year-old male from Raymond Terrace has been arrested by Newcastle Special Operations Group after an investigation led by Clarence Town police regarding break and enters within the Dungog and Clarence Town districts.
The male was arrested and interviewed by police regarding the break and enters including several within the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas.
The male had been charged with 20 offences, several of them occurring within the Dungog and Clarence Town districts.
Anti-social behaviour
Police from Dungog, Stroud and Clarence Town are urging parents and carers to be aware and monitor their children over the summer period.
There has been an increasing amount of anti-social behaviour and consumption of alcohol in public places.
It is a timely reminder police will enforce a zero tolerance approach to these young people regarding street offences, anti-social behaviour and alcohol related offences.
Police have also been working with Dungog Shire Council regarding the implementation of alcohol free zones within the Dungog Shire boundaries due to these ongoing issues.
