Magpie Diaries
August 12: Royal Hotel Dungog. Time: 7pm. Cost: $15 on the door.
Magpie and wife Jessica, who also run the unique outdoor music venue Dashville, have spent sporadic time hibernating in the studio over the last year or two. The pair will perform a bunch of new material and songs from their debut release, Sanctuary, with support from CJ Stranger.
Glamstars rock the Bank Hotel

Newcastle 80's cover group Glamstars will deliver a non-stop hair band hits from the 80's - Bon Jovi, Poison, Motley Crue, The Sweet, Whitesnake, KISS and many more.
Growers Market
August 13: CWA Hall, 199 Dowling Street, Dungog. Time: 8.30am-12pm.
Find fresh produce grown by local farmers, market gardeners and backyard growers. Held every Saturday morning in the courtyard of the CWA Hall.
Free family film
August 21: James Theatre Dungog. Time: 2pm-5pm. Cost: Free but bookings required.
To celebrate 40 years of the Dungog Shire Community Centre, it will host a free showing of the funny, quirky Australian family film Oddball. Afterwards will be afternoon tea for all. Register: eventbrite.com.au.
The Arms of Love

The Song Company reunites with choreographer-dancer Thomas E.S. Kelly - from Indigenous dance company Karul Projects - in a pageant of light and movement to Membra Jesu Nostri by Dieterich Buxtehude and I pray the sea by Chris Williams, commissioned with funding from the Silo Collective and setting words from No Friend But the Mountains by Behrouz Boochani.
