Dungog council staff reported at the June meeting that a number of major road construction and bridge repair works were completed and progressed in May despite "resource and material shortages".
Progress was made on four segments of the $25 million Clarence Town Road upgrade project including initial sealing works north of Woerdens Road and drainage and pavement works at the Cemetery Road intersection, while the upgrade to the Glen William Road intersection is continuing.

The council's $16.44m timber bridge replacement program also progressed. May bridge construction works included construction starting on the new Bruxner Bridge. Works continued on Hopson and Saxby's bridges, and guardrail installation was carried out for Archinals Bridge, which opened in early June.
