Nathan Lake has been providing the people of Dungog with craft beer at the Tinshed Brewery for over three years.
The 32 year old was first introduced to beer brewing while working part time at a homebrew store and studying biology at university.

It was while working at the homebrew store that Mr Lake started looking into the science side of brewing and as soon as he was qualified by university, Mr Lake asked for a job at the Tinshed Brewery.
"I hit up the boss here at the Tinshed and they took me on as a brewer," Mr Lake said.
Mr Lake is fascinated with the ability to mix and match different flavors and being able to know the science behind the brewing.
"I was developing all the recipes and just experimenting with different flavors, different styles and all that. I likes to tweak things... The freedom you have with all the flavors and everything, it really interested me," Mr Lake said.
However it isn't all fun and games. The majority of the time that Mr Lake is working he is cleaning.
"Lots of home brewers think that brewing is just sitting down and drinking beer and just watching the thing but 80 per cent of the time I;m just cleaning and scrubbing things. making sure the brewery is spotless," Mr Lake said.
When he isn't cleaning, Mr Lake is often experimenting with different types of beer such as the recent "Anti-Imperial Stout".
When he isn't working, Mr Lake can often be found accompanying his co-workers at the Tinshed, conducting "quality control".
"I love it here. It's kind of like a family," Mr Lake said.
The Tinshed Brewery is open from 11am until 8 pm-ish from Thursdays through to Sundays.
