Glen William Road from Pine Brush Road to Clarence Town Road will be closed to through-traffic from May 5 to May 19, weather permitting, as segment two of the major road upgrade progresses.
Works as part of this segment includes the rehabilitation of Clarence Town Road from south of Glen William Road to Parer's Hill.
Dungog Shire Council said that school buses will still be allowed to access Glen William Road as usual during the two week road closure.
"Glen William Road will be closed at the Pine Brush Road intersection, with vehicles diverted at this point," the council said.
"Vehicles under 10 tonne will be diverted onto Pine Brush Road. Vehicles over 10 tonne will be diverted at Clarence Town on to Clarence Town Road."
The $25m project will see 22 sections of Clarence Town Road between Raymond Terrace and Dungog upgraded.
Funded by the Australian ($20m) and state ($5m) governments, Port Stephens and Dungog councils are each carrying out 11 segments of works.
"Council has largely completed pre-construction works for its 11 segments... with works commenced on segments one, two and seven, and completed on segment three," Dungog council reported on its website on April 21.
Dungog council said it expected that in the next six months segments one, two and seven would be finished while work would begin on segments four, five, eight, 10 and 11.
