Dungog rower, Spencer Turrin, has been named as a finalists for the prestigious NSW Sport Awards at Parramatta's CommBank Stadium on January 24.

Attended by the elite of NSW sport, the swards celebrate the achievements of NSW athletes, coaches, administrators and organisations across 12 award-winning categories.
Turrin was a member of the men's coxless four which won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games in July.
Turrin is one six finalists for Athlete of the Year and he will contest the award with fellow Tokyo Olympic team-members, three-time NSW Athlete of the Year winner, Tokyo Olympic Games paddling gold medallist Jessica Fox, swimming gold medallist Cate Campbell, high jump silver medallist Nicola McDermott, surfing bronze medallist Owen Wright, and double Tokyo Paralympic Games wheelchair racing gold medallist Madison de Rozario.
The awards gala dinner will also see Mark Webber (Motor Racing), Mick Fanning (Surfing), Naomi Flood (Surf Lifesaving and Kayaking), Kerri Pottharst (Beach Volleyball), and Harry Williams (Football) inducted into the NSW Hall of Champions, while Mark Ella (Rugby Union) will be elevated to Legend status.
Sport NSW chairperson Carolyn Campbell, congratulated all category finalists saying; "With sport being severely disrupted because of the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years, the 2021 NSW Sport Awards finalists have provided a bright ray of sunshine lifting spirits and providing instances of inspiration and motivation."
