Pending Covid restrictions Dungog and Clarence Town swimming pools are set to open on September 25.
There's perhaps no one anticipating the opening more than new Venue Supervisor, Casey Hynes.
She will be looking after both Dungog and Clarence Town pools this summer.
Casey grew up in Dungog and spent a lot of time at the pool doing swimming lessons and competition swimming on a Friday night.
Casey, who has has worked as a childcare educator has landed her dream job.
She worked at Dungog pool last year as a lifeguard and recently completing her AUSWIM course.
During last year's lockdown the local pools were able to open with strict Covid safe precautions such as reduced numbers and other measures such as hand sanitizing.
"There will be a lot of extra cleaning to keep up with this year," she said.
"We keep preparing for the opening as if it will happen, but we really will not find out until perhaps the week before if it will go ahead.

"We were pretty lucky last year that the conditions last year were not as strict as we first thought.
"Fingers crossed everything goes to plan and we open."
In what will be a welcome relief to many parents in the shire swimming lessons are scheduled for Term 4 to start on the October 18 - again pending Covid restrictions easing.
"Last year we didn't have the teacher and we have a new teacher on board now who has a lot of experience, so again Covid permitting, the swim schools will be back.
"We are also keen to get the Friday night swimming club back up and running this season.
" Aqua aerobics schedule to for Term 4 as well."
The Dungog Swimming Pool is managed and operated by LSA Venues in partnership with the Dungog Shire Council.
There are currently a range of job vacancies available at both pools.
