At last some good news for having some fun during the lockdown.
The Paterson Allyn Williams Science Hub (PAWSH) members have put their collective thinking caps to come up with a Covid safe way to celebrate National Science Week from Saturday, August 14 to Sunday, August 22.
The 2021 Dungog Masked Ball will be held on Saturday, August 21 with a 7pm start.
Science Hub members, John O'Brien Jane Richens and Michael Kelly have been organising some very special guests to come to the party - including the amazing Dr Karl!
So it's time to get your dancing gear out and get ready to party and have some fun - from the safety of your own home.
It's easy and free to join the party. Register @ Eventbrite via www.pawsciencehub.com and you'll be sent your free ticket and before the party you will be sent the Zoom link.
Unfortunately, the other two events the Paterson Allyn Williams Science Hub had organised - the Trivia + Science night and the Youth Science Display - have been postponed until later in the year when Covid restrictions allow them to proceed.
"In the 'Old Normal' there were annual masked balls held in Dungog, with food, and drink, and dancing and comedy and prizes and fabulous masks and costumes," PAWSH member Jane Richens said.
This year PAWSH has redesigned the famed masked ball to be at your own home - and it's also a dance party.
"The 2021 Dungog Masked Ball's theme is 'The Plague' and the agenda is to get everyone partying legally in the comfort of your own homes," Ms Richens said.
"Wear a brilliant costume, a splendid mask or invoke a magnificent Zoom background, preferably in theme, then join the party on Zoom to enjoy the music, the comedy, prizes and some very special guests including Dr Karl Kruszelnicki who will spread some science based magic and entertainment."
