With the new bike tracks at the Dungog Common attracting plenty of cyclists from beyond our council area, this year is shaping up to be a huge event.
The Rotary Club of Dungog is once again doing all the hard work involved in getting such a mammoth event organised.
Mark your diary for September 24, 25 and 26. More details will be part of future issues.
Get ready to Rumble baby
Car enthusiasts
Saturday, October 23, is the day set aside for the 10th annual Dungog Rumble. Vintage vehicles, classic cars, race cars, motorcycles, hot rods and trucks - pretty much anything you can describe as automotive will be at the rumble.
Hosted by the Bank Hotel in Dungog there's live music and raffles as well as the chance to see all the marvellous machines in a show and shine. All proceeds from the day go to Soldier On and Patrick Gillan. The event is of course dependent on Covid restrictions at the time.
Tea party
Cancelled
Sadly the organisers of the Dungog Tea Party have had to make the decision to abandon this year's much-anticipated event.
The uncertainty around the Covid pandemic has meant the event will not go ahead this year.
Good news is a new date has already been set for 2022.
Keep September 6-11, 2022 free - and keep creating.
Census night
August 10
This year residents will be encouraged to complete their Census as soon as they receive their instructions, if they know where they'll be on the night of August 10.
People will be able to complete the Census online, on their mobile device, or on paper.
Breast Screen
The Breast Screen NSW mobile van is currently at Dungog outside the District Hospital in Hospital Road and will be there until August 18.
Women in the age bracket of 50-74 are recommended to have a free screening mammogram once every two years.
You can book or check your eligibility by phoning 13 20 50.
Art Exhibition
Gaye Shield, the popular and talented Dungog artist is having an exhibition/sale titled "Magic" to be held in the Dungog by Design gallery at 224 Dowling Street, which is opposite the IGA.
The exhibition will open on Thursday, July 29 and finish on Monday, August 2.
The community is invited to attend the exhibition opening on Saturday, July 31 from 12 noon where refreshments will be served.
