The Raiders kept themselves warm in icy conditions running in 13 tries to record a 66-0 win against Tea Gardens Hawks at Stroud Showground on Saturday.

The Hawks spent the early minutes camped on Stroud's try line but the flow of the game changed soon in the sixth minute Fred Kierce received a pass and was to quick for the opposing defence and scored behind the posts.
Try scoring machine David Lyall hit the defensive line like a bomb minutes later when he charged through for his first try. After the conversion hit the post Stroud led 10-0.
The Hawks kept their line together for the next four sets of tackles, until the 20th minute when Fred Kierce again had the opposition clutching at fresh air to score under the posts.
Brady Thomas had a great game with solid runs up field. He scored the first of his double crossing out wide. The kick was waved away and the score was 20-0.
Stroud was looking great as they kept on attacking the Hawks line the passed the ball through four sets of hands before Harry Reid crossed untouched.
After a couple of unsuccessful raids man mountain, David Lyall found himself on the try scorers list , as he collected a miracle pass from Luke " Razza" Worth , when he was falling to the ground. It gave the Raiders a 32-0 lead at half-time.
The second half started like the first with Stroud was controlling the game.The Raiders camped on the Hawks line until Zachary Allen saw a hole open and scored after palming away from tacklers.
Despite a mounting injury list, the Hawks kept on attacking only to be repelled by a resolute Stround defence.
Stroud switched into attack with some swift back line moves to get the ball to Brodie Tull, who stepped inside players to score inside the corner post.
When Thomas strolled across to score his second the Raiders led 50-0 and they were in no mood to coast home. Clint Osborne scored two tries in as many minutes to take the score to 62-0.
The Hawks decided to play on after offered the mercy rule and Raiders coach Steve Boyton took advantage. Coming on as a fresh reserve he went over the line to finish the scoring at 66-0.
In the earlier game, the Raiders Ladies League Tag side managed to keep the Maitland Pickers at bay for the first 15 minutes. However, Maitland kept the pressure on and and ran in five quick tries for a 24-0 lead.
The second half started in similar fashion, until the Pickers picked up the pace and ran in seven second half triest to finish 62-0 winners.
Best on field was Holly Fisher-Webster and crowd favourite Victoria Hawthorn.
Next week the Raiders men don't play but will return to Stroud on Saturday, July 31, at 3 pm to take on Raymond Terrace.
