Kurt Fearnley is a three time Paralympic gold medalist and two time Commonwealth Games gold medalist.
He has won over 40 marathons, including New York, Chicago and London in a career spanning more than 20 years.
Also taking part in the program is journalist Sandra Hogan who will be joined by Sue-Ellen Kusher (nee Doherty) to discuss what it was like to be inducted into the world of spies as a child whose parents worked for the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO).
Her story is incredibly intriguing featuring a first hand account of what it was like to memorise car number plates, spot unusual behaviour, observe people at rallies and most importantly, not to draw attention.
Her talk will take place on Thursday, May 20, from 6pm to 8pm, at Sun Street Studios.
Maitland also welcomes local inspirations author and appearance activist Carly Findlay who will sit down with Fearnley to discuss the importance of representation and having a platform.
Joining them will be local author and activist Belinda Downes. All three discuss their experiences of living with a disability, the under representation of people with a disability in the media.
They will be speaking on Thursday, May 27, from 6pm to 8pm at Gillieston Heights Community Hub.
Maitland Libraries' Coordinator Community Programs and Collections Alison Harwood said Maitland Libraries are honoured to bring these special guests to Maitland to hear their unique and captivating stories.
Tickets cost $27.50 for each program and can be purchased at maitlandlibrary.com.au/look-whos-talking
