The event is back for 2021 to be held at the James Theatre from September 7 to September 12.
Organiser Erika Seck said after Covid-19 forced the cancellation of last year's event this year is shaping up to be very exciting.
"As soon as we started promoting the event online I had a lady send me an entry from Queensland and we have two more tea cosies sent to us already and they are not due until August," she said.
"We are hoping that it will be bigger than previous years as people who missed last year's event and people are wanting to get out and about."
Entries are also expected to increase as many people took up crafts during lockdown last year.
"We never really know until they start arriving but we are hoping for lots of entries," said Ms Seck.
The event is being held in September to avoid the August winds and to take advantage of Dungog's beautiful springtime weather.
The best tea cosy stands a chance to win $500 with first and second prizes in each category and the best trivet will win $100. Just by voting for your favourite tea cosy visitors have a chance to win a $100 or $50 prize.
Categories for the tea cosy entries include: the bottom of the garden; sporty; farmyard friends; celebrations; wild and wacky; retro and treasured memories (which does not need to have been made by the contestant).
