The Dungog RSL Sub-branch has decided to hold both its traditional dawn service and mid morning service on Sunday, April 25 - with all the necessary COVID safe requirements now in place.
Parade Marshall Greg Godde said everyone attending both services and the march would be required to scan the QR code on their phones to register. There will be clip boards dotted around for those who do not have access to a phone.
The Dawn Service at the centotaph will start at 5.30am with a service at the war graves at 7.00am and a service at the Bowling Club memorial gates at 9.30am.
For the main service, the march steps off from the Post Office in Dowling Street at 10.30am, turns left into Brown street and up the hill to the Memorial RSL Club for the service at the cenotaph which starts at 10.45am.
At Clarence Town, Anzac Day will be even more special this year with the installation of the Boer War memorial gates expected to be in place at the cenotaph.
Clarence Town Anzac Day committee secretary Di Bennett OAM said her solo service last year which was livestreamed for the community was an emotional one.
"People were in their driveways with their candles on my way there and I was crying before I even got to the cenotaph," she said.
The committee has COVID-safe plans in place and will have a QR code and hand sanitiser available.
"I was not about to let another year go by and not have one," said Mrs Bennett.
The march leaves the bowling club at 5.30am sharp bound for the cenotaph. The community is invited back to the club for breakfast which this year has a small cover charge.
