The Board of Dungog Advisory Pty Ltd is seeking two interested community members to serve as voluntary directors.
As part of the agreement when Dungog and District Retirement Living Ltd merged with RSL Lifecare, a small company was set up known as Dungog Advisory Pty Ltd.
At that same time, an advisory committee was established consisting of three members of RSL Lifecare and the four board members of Dungog Advisory Pty Ltd.
The criteria were that each member would serve for three years and at the end of the term members would stand down with the ability to reapply if they so desired.
The inaugural Dungog Advisory Pty Ltd Board members were, Ray Neilson, David Crawford, David Stuart and Anne McDonald.
Last year Ray Neilson and David Stuart stood down from the company and Ray Neilson decided not to reapply.
David Stuart successfully reapplied and Maureen Jarvis, a past Dungog High School principal, was the successful applicant to fill the vacant position.
This year, both David Crawford and Anne McDonald are required to stand down.
Board members are automatically appointed to the Dungog Advisory Committee and are privy to RSL Lifecare and Lara Aged Care business.
Board members are required to actively participate in the meetings, which are held about three times a year.
Board members must be permanent residents of the Dungog Local Government area, be interested in Lara and Aged Care in general and cannot be staff members of RSL Lifecare or Residents of Lara and Ironwood Village.
"Participation on this advisory committee is such a privilege and very rewarding," said Anne McDonald.
The board, under the chairmanship of David Stuart, is now looking for expressions of interest from passionate local people.
Board members duties include advocating for the rights and interests of Lara and Ironwood Village residents; monitoring RSL Lifecare's compliance with its obligations under the Transfer of ownership Deed; provide advice to the Board of RSL Lifecare regarding strategic planning, guidance and support to ongoing development of aged care and community services throughout the Dungog shire.
Expressions of Interest need to be in writing and received at Lara on or before Friday, September 29, 2020 and addressed to:
The Chairperson, Dungog Advisory Pty Ltd. c/o Lara Aged Care 64 Hospital Road Dungog N.S.W. 2420
