Dungog library is closed but online resources are available

Dungog Library is closed until further notice but librarians are on hand to offer help via the telephone to help residents access online resources.

In line with the federal government's attempt to combat the spread of COVID-19 all public libraries have been closed to the public.

"We encourage users to explore the range of resources available through the Newcastle Library website," said librarian Amanda Field.

"There is home access to the e-library, including adult and children's e-books, newspapers, magazines, music and movie streaming services."

The book drop located on the right hand side of the building entrance will remain open so items can be returned. Library users are advised not to worry about rushing back with borrowed items as all loans have been extended for the foreseeable future.

Placing reservations is suspended until further notice.

Library staff will remain available via telephone only - call 4992 1819 - from 9am until noon Monday to Saturday - to answer any questions and help customers with information on how to access online resources.

"Thank you for your understanding in these challenging times, the health and well being of our people and community is paramount," said librarian Tracy Cummings.
