The station is looking for new presenters to come on board as a part of the team delivering music, news and information to the community.
Dungog Radio FM 107.9 has been on air since April 2011 with popular presenter Brian Simpson becoming involved about 2014.
"I come from your average working background with no radio or computer experience," he said.
"Anyone can become a presenter."
In 2015 the Saturday sports show hosted by Brian and Michael Schumack at the time was awarded the Best Sports Show in community radio.
"It shows you don't have to be an expert to succeed on community radio," said Brian who still hosts the show and is training new presenters to take over.
Another successful show Brian has been involved with was the Saturday night party show he hosted with Elaine Zammit.
"We ran it as a request show and on average we'd get between 80 and 90 requests each Saturday night - fantastic for Dungog and surrounds.
"That was so much fun, I really miss doing that," he said adding he would be willing to come along for a few Saturday nights to help if a new presenter wanted to restart the show.
Although one of the recognisable voices on radio, Brian is reluctant to be the centre of attention and despite his desire to stay under the radar, he was nominated for an award at the Dungog Shire Australia Day Awards this year.
"I feel its time for me to step down and help some new presenters to take over and keep this radio station going forward into the future.
"We are also looking for sponsors to help keep the station operating so if you would like to get your message out there this is a great and cheap way to do so."
Regular shows include reading of the Chronicle every Friday, Johnny G's show on Wednesday afternoon, Choof's Country Show on Saturday morning, Frog's country show on Wednesday night and of course Everything Sport on Saturday mornings.
Interested presenters can contact Pauline Cambourne on 0429 629 014.
