Paterson all-rounder Russell Presland claimed a hat-trick on his way to a five-wicket haul against Eastern Suburbs at Stuart Park on Saturday.

Presland finished with 5-17 as Paterson dismissed Easts for just 75 off 37.5 overs to set up an eight-wicket win.
He received plenty of support as Paterson kept the clamps on the Griffins batsman with economical and tight bowling. Rigby Vane-Wood took 2-15 and Rod Faulkner claimed 2-14.
Paterson's openers gave the team an early knock off with Jacob Watson (36) and Chris Merchant (32) combined for an opening stand of 74 before they were both dismissed two runs short of their target.
It was left to keeper Ramsey Vane-Wood to score the winning runs.
The win leaves Paterson seven points clear of Port Stephens on the ladder with three rounds remaining before the semi-finals.
Paterson had a comfortable nine-wicket win in D-grade restricting Old Victoria to 8/107 off their 35 overs and making 1/111 off 15 in reply.
Paterson shared the wickets around with Jason Hicks taking 2-6, skipper Adam Hicks 2-17 and Rodney Gane 2-19.
Adam Kidd top scored with 43 not out, Harrison Bridges was also unbeaten on 38 and Adam Hicks made 25.
Paterson are now third on the table with 36 points, six points clear of Old Victoria. Lakeside Village are in top place on 44 and Belmore second on 43.
