The 15-year-old Dungog High School student who plays for the Kurri Kurri Netball Association was awarded $550 under the Local Sporting Champions program to help with the cost of uniform, travelling and registration costs associated with competing most weekends.
Emity has been playing from a very young age and has learnt and developed her skills over that time.
She has been selected in the Kurri Kurri Representative under 15s team for 2019 and will compete at the State Championships.
"Attending the state championships is a very important opportunity to further my netball skills," said Emity.
"It also keeps me active while learning vital team work and leadership skills which will help me throughout every stage in life."
Federal Member for Lyne David Gillespie MP congratulated Emily on her efforts in netball.
"Reaching state levels takes a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment and I'm delighted Emity has been recognised with this award," Dr Gillespie said.
